Our story

A father, a son, and a lot of other people's cars

Miguel Senior started this shop on Garfield Avenue and Miguel Junior works alongside him. Customers still ask for them by name. One reviewer has been coming here more than twenty years and signs off by telling people to say Alfredo sent them, which is about as good a measure of a neighbourhood shop as there is.

We are ASE certified and we guarantee our parts and our labour for a set period, which we tell you up front rather than after something goes wrong. If you get here early enough, we will give you a realistic time frame for the day instead of a hopeful one.

And if it is a transmission, we will say so and send you to a specialist we trust. Knowing what not to take on is part of the job.

Services

What is written on the sign, and what we actually do

4x4 lifting

Lift kits fitted and set up properly, not just bolted on. It is the first thing on our sign because it is what people drive across town for.

4x4 repairs

Trucks and SUVs, front and rear suspension, driveline and the wear that comes with running a lifted vehicle every day.

Auto electric

Charging faults, starting faults, wiring and the intermittent problems that other shops hand back to you unsolved.

Fuel injection

Injection service and diagnosis on foreign and domestic engines, from carbureted-era conversions through to modern direct injection.

Air conditioning and heater

Air con service, leak diagnosis and heater work. Worth doing before a Los Angeles summer, not during one.

Complete auto repair

Foreign and domestic, brakes, suspension, engine and everything routine. The one thing we do not do in-house is transmissions, and for those we send you to a specialist partner rather than learn on your car.

Trucks

The 4x4 work is not a sideline

Plenty of shops will tell you they do lift kits. Ours is the second line on the sign and the first thing on the pole out front, because lifting trucks and keeping them running is a real part of what comes through the gate.

Suspension front and rear, driveline, the geometry that goes out once a truck sits three inches higher. It is the sort of work where doing it properly the first time saves a set of tyres.

This shop been here in the Community for as long as I can remember. The people who work here are Honest workers, will give you a great Guaranteed job along with part for "X" amount of time for parts and Labor. I recommend this place for any car service. They do not work with Transmissions though, but they will send you to one of there specialized partners. They are upfront and will give you a time frame if you are here early enough to get the job done on time.
